About Richard

RICHARD TYLER JORDAN is the author of the Timothy Trousdale Mysteries, including Suite Charity, Breakfast at Timothy's, and the forthcoming Murder in the Margins. He is also the author of the Polly Pepper Mysteries, including Murder in Mint Condition, Murder and a Missing Manuscript, Shadows at Midnight, and A Corpse in the Castle.
Raised in Peabody, Massachusetts, Richard couldn't wait to escape what he describes as his unsophisticated family. "They considered it fine dining if the food had to be transferred from a bag to a plate before eating." Dreaming of a more glamorous life, he headed to Los Angeles, where the Walt Disney Studios somehow mistook his enthusiasm—and possibly his naivete—for potential.
Over the next three decades, Richard worked on more than 500 feature film publicity campaigns, though he insists he only remembers about five of them and suspects three were fever dreams.
While helping promote movies that, in his words, "even popcorn with extra butter couldn't save," he began writing novels. Early titles such as Overnight Sensation, Strangers in the Night, Gay Blades, and One Night Stand raised more than a few eyebrows—including Mickey's. "Who knew rodents were so sensitive?" he says of Disney's most famous mouse.
Now living in England with his dashing Irish husband in a 500-year-old cottage and a ghost that's more "meh" than "boo," Richard spends his time writing mysteries, exploring ancient ruins, and staying in castles-turned-posh-boutique hotels. Whether plotting a murder or planning his next castle getaway, he's convinced his life is every bit as entertaining as a Hollywood rom-com.
